WELCOME TO ACMECORP!

Introduction - A Letter from Our Chairman

Dear New Employees,

We sadly live in a day and age when many young people have lost their faith in the great American corporation. As the Worldcoms and dot-coms continue to crumble around us, I would like to congratulate you for choosing to begin your career at Acmecorp. Our company has a long and stable history of providing integrated solutions, adding shareholder value, and increasing customer satisfaction. We are sure we have a bright future as a shining light of the new business world ahead of us.

The Human Resources team and I have been hard at work assembling the very best team for the uncertain times ahead, and hope you're really fired up to face new many new and unknown challenges. I have a burning desire to see you all succeed to the fullest extent of your abilities. With your help, the world will see through the mistruths that have been filling the headlines: the American Corporation is alive and well! You are its future!

We here at Acmecorp hope it is a long and prosperous one.

Sincerely,

N. Ron Adelphia

Job Description: Your Role and Responsibilities

As a new business analyst for Acmecorp, you will be asked to sift through data contained in many documents to determine its implications for the future direction of the company. Of course, because you are a trainee, Human Resources will be evaluating your progress along the way. And as the lowest ranking Acmeite, you may be called upon to perform miscellaneous office-related tasks at any time. Each of your job objectives will be considered completed when you extract a final answer from the task.

Once you've completed a task or project, you can call Human Resources to verify an answer. Don't be surprised if we ask you how to spell a word, how you got the answer, or what you thought of the assignment. Of course, we might ask you these questions even if we know your answer is embarrassingly wrong, so don't take them as a hint.

ACMECORP Code of Ethical Conduct

We at Acmecorp pride ourselves on creating a comfortable and collegial work environment, The number one goal of our company is for all employees to succeed and have fun.

Please keep this in mind: respect your teammates and the other participating teams. You should not do anything that would harm anyone else's enjoyment of the hunt. In particular, don't alter puzzles so they become unsolvable or mislead other teams. Snooping around in other team members' directories is also bad form.

While there are many ways to approach solving a puzzle, some methods just aren't kosher. These include but are not limited to:

If you are ever unsure as to the legality of a technique, please ask us.

Typically, combining teams mid-way through the hunt is not allowed; however, if you have special circumstances, please give us a call. If you're going to drop out, please let us know so we can keep track of who's still in the game (and hopefully persuade you to stick with it).
