Aha! You Too Can Be Jofish
v1.0 Jofish 15/1/03
How To Be The Aha Coordinator
1. Make sure everyone's got everything they need
Does the Delivery person have all their documents in envelopes already? Are
they dressed? Does the delivery person have your cellphone number? I suggest
all documents are printed out in advance and put into envelopes and sealed.
Write A1 A2 etc on the outside of the document just to make sure. They'll probably
only need A1, and lots of those, but it's good to be sure.
Does your Morpheus have your cellphone number? Do you have your Morpheus(es)'
number(s)?
Does the ACME operator have a stack of Aha!
forms
Do you know how to fill them out? Check the example
tracking sheet filled out.
Get a list of registered teams, their phone numbers and HQ from Jenn.
Whenever you see <your-username> replace it with your username. Easy.
2. Make sure you've got all the programs you need on athena.
Log on to athena. Type all this
- zctl hide
- cd
- add jofish
- mkdir ~/sun4bin
- cp /mit/jofish/sun4bin ~/sun4bin
- add <your-username>
- cd sun4bin
- chmod 777 *
Now check it works by typing mzA <your-username>. You should have sent
yourself a zephyr. If not, get someone to play with
- Start a new window. (xterm & if you're using X or just log in again
and zctl hide again.)
- In that window, run mclusterA. It'll sit there and look at the machines
for you. If you need to you can stop it and run mclusterAB which looks at
both cluster A (M1-142-) and B (M4-035-) Just let it run.
- Back in your first window, let's change your identity so you can zephyr
people.
- type chfn, and enter Matrix Operator as your name. Don't worry about the
other fields. Hit Enter for all of them.
- cd \tmp
- ls -l | grep <your-username> (that's -lowercase L, not -one)
- See the file called tkt_p<some number>?
- Edit it in emacs or vi or whatever. Change your username (the first few
characters) to read tank. Don't worry if you don't have four letters in your
username, it shouldn't matter. Save the file.
- Try out all of your commands: mzpw, mzA, mzB, mzC. All require a username
as an input. Try it with yours. you should see messages from Matrix Operator
<tank>.
3. When the ACME operator calls out that some team wants to take the red
pill:
- Get the Aha form from them. Yeah! Acme operator is yo bitch!
- Pick a path for the team. Probably A. Cross out the others. Again, check
the example if you don't get it.
- Look at your window where mclusterA is running and pick an unused machine.
Write the machine number down on the form. The first part is done for you.
- Call the team back. Say "Well done. You must meet with Morpheus
to take the red pill. Write this down. The passphrase is Wake Up. Go and immediately
and log in on the following computer: [unused machine]. Got that? We will
contact you then. Hurry." Write down when you expect them to arrive.
That's just so you don't forget about them.
- Call the Delivery Person and tell them
- <team name>
- What path they're on (IE where will the delivery person drop off the
package)
- Where they're to be told to go. (A1, A2, A3, etc. Probably A1).
- Watch that mcluster screen. When you see someone log on to the machine,
on your main window
- type mzpw <their user-name> (That sends What's the Password?)
- When they respond with "Be Noisy" type
- mzA or mzB or mzC <their user-name>. Probably mzA <their user-name>
- Which will tell them to go to the pickup location.
- Write down the time you expect them to arrive there.
- When the Delivery person calls you back to confirm, write down the time
and when you expect them to arrive, and give the form to the Outgoing Phone
Operator.
