The first letters of the original words spell PRINCE LP WITH DMSR and PIL LP WITH RISE. Prince's "D.M.S.R." is on the album 1999; Public Image Ltd.'s "Rise" is on the album Album (at least, the LP is called "Album"; the tape is called "Cassette" and the CD is called "Compact Disc"). The answer is 1999 ALBUM.
