1.0 TEAM: "This is Team Example. We'd like to call in an answer for the Round One Metapuzzle: it's TAKETHEREDPILL"

1.1 ACME OPERATOR:

• (Loudly): "I'm sorry, that's incorrect".
• (stage whispered) "Shhh. This line is tapped so I must be brief. Say nothing. An operative will call you back."
• Hang up phone
• Enter team name on A-Ha Form
• ANNOUNCE TO HQ: "Team Example has found the Red Pill."
• Give A-Ha form to Matrix Operator

1.2 MATRIX OPERATOR:

• Decide what path is currently most empty.. Generally, alternate Path A and Path B. During peak times, it may be necessary to use Path C. Write the path down on the A-Ha form.
• Place the team's token in the cluster on the A-Ha Board.
• Type mcluster into your athena terminal (it may be necessary to type add jofish; first)
• Locate an unused machine in the appropriate cluster.
• Write the machine name on the A-Ha form.
• Call team back from Matrix Phone.
• Say: "Well done. You must meet with Morpheus to take the red pill. Write this down. The passphrase is Wake Up. Go and immediately and log in on the following computer: [unused machine]. Got that? We will contact you then. Hurry."
• Give A-Ha form to Zephyr Operator/Delivery Coordinator

1.3 ZEPHYR OPERATOR / DELIVERY COORDINATOR

• Type mfinger [machine name] into your terminal. (Script mfinger fingers a machine until someone logs on.)
• When they log in, zephyr them mzp [username]. This sends "What is the passphrase?"
• When they zephyr back "Wake up" or something reasonably close:
• Type one of mzA, or mzB or mzC [their username], depending on which path they are on. This will send the following message: "Good. First, beware of agents. Avoid them at all costs. Second, go immediately to [A/B/C dropoff Location]. You will receive a message there. Log out and go now. Hurry."
• Move Team Example's Token on the A-Ha Board to the appropriate Delivery Point. Locate next unused waiting room and circle it on the form.
• Phone or tell Delivery Person to deliver the A-Ha Document to
  • Team Name
  • Location A: Lobby 7, B: 10-250, or C: Lobby 6.
• Write time on A-Ha form and give it to the Morpheus Coordinator
• When Delivery Personconfirms, write time on A-Ha form and move token to appropriate waiting room.

1.4 MORPHEUS COORDINATOR

• PATH A

• If you're dealing with a team on Path A:
  • When you receive a phone call from MorpheusA
    • Check on the status of the previous team: did they take the red or blue pill?
      • Put the Team's token in the Red Pill or the Blue Pill location.
      • Fill out the form, and put it in the red pill or blue pill box.
    • Confirm that the Morpheus is in the room and ready for the next team:
      • If necessary, place MorpheusA token in the Morpheus-A-Room:3-434
  • Phone A1 (x3-5887, W20-1xx, the British phone box) and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must meet with Morpheus now. Go to room 3-434. Hurry" (Morpheus-A-Room)
    • Move Team Example's token to 3-434, Morpheus-A-Room.
    • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
  • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in Room A2 (W16-dorm-side), Phone A2 (x3-1246)and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must be moved. Agents are in your vicinity again. Go and wait by the Fleet Bank in W20, on the ground floor. Hurry." (Room A1)
    • Move Team Example2's token to W20-1xx. (Room A1).
  • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
  • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in W20-5xx (Room A3), Phone x3-7833 and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must get away fast. Avoid any agents you see. Go immediately to the Kresge auditorium building. When you are there, wait inside, on the dormitory side. We will contact you there. Hurry."
    • Move the Team's token to Kresge (Room A2).
    • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.

     

  • PATH B

  • When you receive a phone call from MorpheusB
    • Check on the status of the previous team: did they take the red or blue pill?
      • Put the Team's token in the Red Pill or the Blue Pill location.
      • Fill out the form, and put it in the red pill or blue pill box.
    • Confirm that the Morpheus is in the room and ready for the next team:
      • If necessary, place MorpheusB token in 5-232 (Morpheus-B-Room)
    • Phone 3-1237 (Room B1, Lobby 37) and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must meet with Morpheus now. Go to room 5-232. Hurry."
      • Move Team Example's token to 5-232. (Morpheus-B-Room.)
      • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
    • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in Lobby 10 (Room B2), phone x3-1210 and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must be moved. Agents are in your vicinity again. Go and wait in Lobby 37. Avoid any agents you see. Hurry."
      • Move Team Example2's token to Lobby 37 (Room B1).
    • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
    • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in Lobby 13 (Room B3), phone x3-1213 and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must get away fast. Avoid any agents you see. Go immediately to Lobby 10, and wait by the elevators. We will contact you there. Hurry."
      • Move the Team's token to Lobby 10 (Room B2).
      • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.

  • PATH C.

  • Do not use unless you have informed everybody that we are now using Path C. Remove the tape covering the C-path on the A-Ha Board. Replace it when you are no longer using Path C.
• When you receive a phone call from MorpheusC
  • Check on the status of the previous team: did they take the red or blue pill?
    • Put the Team's token in the Red Pill or the Blue Pill location.
    • Fill out the form, and put it in the red pill or blue pill box.
  • Confirm that the Morpheus is in the room and ready for the next team:
    • If necessary, place MorpheusC token in 4-251 (Morpheus-C-Room)
  • Phone 3-0187 (Room C1, Cluster 12-1xx) and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must meet with Morpheus now. Go to room 4-251. Hurry."
    • Move Team Example's token to 4-251. (Morpheus-C-Room.)
    • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
  • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in the Hayden Cluster (Room C2), phone x3-6190 and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must be moved. Agents are in your vicinity again. Go and wait in the Building 12 Cluster. Avoid any agents you see. Hurry."
    • Move Team Example2's token to Building 12 (Room C1).
  • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.
  • If, according to the A-Ha Board, there is anyone in the Building 66 Cluster (Room C3), phone x3-4474 and say "What's the passphrase?" When they say "Wake Up", say, "You must get away fast. Avoid any agents you see. Go immediately to to the cluster in the basement of Hayden Library, and wait. We will contact you there. Hurry."
    • Move the Team's token to Hayden Library (Room C3).
    • Write the time down on the A-Ha Form.

1.5 MORPHEI

• When you are in the room and ready, phone the Morpheus Coordinator and tell them.
• When the team enters, be ready with the red and blue pills. Give them the following speech: [This is somewhat edited. It may need to be further edited.]
  • Hello. Sit down. I've been looking for you. I don't know if you're ready to see what I want to show you, but unfortunately, we have run out of time. Let me tell you why you are here. You have come because you know that this is not an ordinary hunt. What you know you can't explain but you feel it. You've felt it your whole life, felt that something is wrong with the hunt. You don't know what, but it's there like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. The Matrix is everywhere, it's all around us. Unfortunately, no one can be told what the Matrix is. You have to see it for yourself. After this, there is no going back. You take the blue pill. You go back to your headquarters and you solve whatever you think you can solve. You take the red pill and you stay in the running and you learn how deep the rabbit hole goes. You must choose.
• Allow them to take whichever pill they prefer.
• If they take the red pill, then hand them the information packet and say "You will need training. This will explain more."
• Thank them, and wish them luck.
• When they leave, call the Morpheus Coordinator and tell them that your room is now empty. If they took the blue pill, you MUST make sure to tell the Morpheus Coordinator

A-Ha- Board: THIS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MORPHEUS COORDINATOR.

We will use a chalk or white board in the room. It looks like the tables in the aha overview (aha.html) It should all be written up clearly (if on whiteboard, use Sharpie and clean off later with isopropyl alcohol). Put masking tape over Path C until it is used.

STILL TO DO:

Locate A-Ha tokens. It's possible that these could just be postits, or postits with a magnet on top to make sure they stay in place. Need to do it, anyway.

Athena Scripts (to write)

Note that all start with M (for matrix, or morpheus)

mcluster: fingers machines in cluster C, B, A: @M56-129-15..18,21..22, @M4-035-12..16, @M1-142-21..25 (Hopefully greps so that it only displays the ones that have nobody logged on)

mzp [username]: matrix-zephyr-passphrase. Sends "What is the passphrase?"

mza [username]: sends "Good. First, beware of agents. Avoid them at all costs. Second, go immediately to Lobby 7 by the elevators. You will receive a message there. Log out and go now. Hurry."

mzb [username]: sends "Good. First, beware of agents. Avoid them at all costs. Second, go immediately and wait outside 10-250. You will receive a message there. Log out and go now. Hurry."

mzc [username]: sends "Good. First, beware of agents. Avoid them at all costs. Second, go immediately to Lobby 6. You will receive a message there. Log out and go now. Hurry."
